For the second time this season, the Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats defeat the Ramsey Rams, this time in the Consolation Semifinals of the 64th Annual St. Elmo Holiday tournament. The Bobcats got off to a hot start going on a 23-4 run in the first quarter. CHBC would again outscore Ramsey 16-15 to take a 39-19 lead at halftime. The Rams would attempt a comeback outscoring the Bobcats 15-14 in the third quarter, but still found themselves trailing 53-34 heading into the fourth quarter. A 13-4 run from CHBC in the fourth quarter would help them pull away from Ramsey and secure a 66-38 win. With the win, the Bobcats improve to 3-6 on the season. They will play for 5th place on Saturday, and take on the winner of Friday’s second Consolation Semifinal between Patoka/Odin and Mulberry Grove. With the loss, the Rams fall to 1-11 on the season. They will play for 7th place on Saturday where they will take on the loser of Friday’s second Consolation Semifinal between Patoka/Odin and Mulberry Grove.
