BSE Runs Win Streak to Seven With Rout of Casey-Westfield


Brownstown-St. Elmo girls basketball has pushed their win streak to seven games after routing Casey-Westfield for a 54 to 22 win on Tuesday night. The Lady Bombers got off to a quick start as Presley Williams poured in 10 points in the first quarter and Dayana Haslett added eight points as BSE ran out to an 18-5 lead. A 15-3 second quarter run by the Bombers, once again led by Haslett with eight points and another five from Williams along with a basket from Addie Sasse, had BSE up 33-8 at halftime. Madi Miller got herself in the scoring column as her six points helped the Bombers hold their double digit lead as the Warriors had their best scoring quarter and outscored BSE 12-10 in the quarter, but the Bombers remained ahead 43-20. Holding Casey-Westfield to just two points in the fourth quarter, BSE got the game into running clock territory and closed out the 54-22 win. BSE is now 11-2 on the season and will play a National Trail Conference game on the road at Neoga on Thursday before taking a week off before playing in the Dieterich Girls Holiday Tournament after Christmas.
