Our Pro Wire Athlete of the Week for November 23 is Brownstown-St. Elmo girls basketball sophomore Dayana Haslett.
Haslett picked up right where she left off from her freshman season where she was known as one of the top scorers for BSE and put up 23 points in the Lady Bombers season opening win over Cumberland on Monday before dropping 35 points in the Bombers road win at Litchfield on Thursday night and then poured in 29 points in a win over Christ Our Rock on Friday night at the Pana Tournament. Just three games into the season, Haslett is averaging 29 points per game as her and her teammates have got the Bombers out to a 3-0 start to the season. BSE’s first big tests will come today as they will take on Gillespie and Breese Mater Dei for their double day on this first Saturday of the Pana Girls Thanksgiving Tournament that spans across two weekends.
