CHBC Boys Claim Second Straight NTC Cross Country Title as Cosart is Individual Champion; Sarver Takes 6th in Girls Meet


The CHBC Bobcat boys cross country team captured their second straight National Trail Conference Cross Country title on Tuesday as junior August Cosart claimed the individual title and four Bobcats finished in the top 10 while on the girls side of the meet, freshman Zoe Sarver medaled, coming in 6th place.

In the boys race, the Bobcats would beat out St. Anthony by seven points, scoring 30 to the Bulldogs 37 while Dieterich with 81 and North Clay with 87 came in third and fourth. Cosart took the top spot with a time of 16:13 and teammate sophomore Griffin Vaughn was not far behind, running a 16:25 for second place. The Bobcats had two more runners come across the line in the top 10 as senior Aiden Wallace came in sixth with a 17:16 and freshman Deacon Sutter ran a 18:00 for ninth place. Rounding out the scoring runners for CHBC was sophomore Hayden Sarver who came in 12th with a 18:20.

In the girls race, two Lady Bobcats would compete as individuals as freshman Zoey Sarver came in sixth place with a time of 21:40 and sophomore Laney Doty finished in 15th place, running a time of 24:30.

Next up for the Bobcats and Lady Bobcats will be their final regular season meet as they will compete in the Trojan Classic hosted by Charleston High School this Saturday at Linder Park with Girls Varsity at 9:00am, Boys Varsity at 9:45 am and wrapping up with Boys and Girls Open at 10:30am.
