“Best Of” Overall–Standout Male Athletes

Eli Miller-Altamont: Eli put together a strong two-sports season for the Altamont Indians.  In basketball, Eli averaged 9.4 points per game, 3.6 rebounds per game and 2.2 assists per game in helping the Indians to another 20-plus win season.  In baseball, Eli was a solid contributor with a .287 batting average, .430 on base percentage and 26 RBI.  He also had what will most certainly go down as the most famous walk in Altamont baseball history.

Cade Schaub-SEB/BSE:For the Eagles and Coach Feezel, Cade put together a solid season of basketball averaging 11.8 points per game, 4 rebounds per game and 1.8 assists per game.  In baseball, Cade gave the Bombers and Coach Beccue a solid year, hitting .291 with a .356 on base percentage and 15 RBI and 15 runs scored.  He also contributed 30 1/3 IP on the mound for the Bombers.

Carson Lotz-Vandalia: Carson was a standout Offensive and Defensive Lineman for the Vandals football team.  Carson was 1st Team All South Central Conference on the Offensive Line and 3rd Team All South Central Conference on the Defensive Line in being a part of multiple playoff teams during his high school years.  In baseball, Carson has always been a top notch hitter and he continued that his Senior season.  Carson his .343 with a .424 on base percentage, 8 doubles, 1 HR, 24 RBI and 25 runs scored.

Kohnor Depew-Vandalia: It was a breakout Sophomore season for Kohnor.  In football, Kohnor was incredible as a receiver with 37 catches for 984 yards (26.6 yards per catch) 15 receiving TDs and 5 games of 100 receiving yards or better.  In basketball, Kohnor stepped into a starting role averaging 7.3 points per game, 3.5 rebounds per game and 2 assists per game and also taking on some big defensive assignments for the Vandals.  In baseball, Kohnor again stepped up to the varsity level and was outstanding, having a slash line of .398/.467/.556 with 25 RBI, 30 runs scored and 16 stolen bases.

Kaidyn Miller-Altamont: Kaidyn stepped into a big role for Coach Niebrugge’s Indians on the basketball court and produced in a huge way average 13.4 points per game and 11.3 rebounds per game and was named 1st team All-NTC for his efforts.  On the baseball field, Kaidyn put together a strong year at the plate, hitting .351 with 26 RBI and 3 homers—including a huge one in the Super-Sectional.

Dillan Elam-Altamont: Dillan was the area’s top pitcher this past spring season with a 10-0 record and a 1.14 ERA.  He also hit .311 at the plate with 2 HRs and 25 RBI.  Although he missed a large amount of time in basketball with injuries, Dillan averaged 13.5 points per game, 3.1 rebounds per game and 2.9 assists per game in his 13 games for the Indians.

Gage Lorton-CHBC: Gage had a very strong two-sport season for the Bobcats.  He averaged 9.8 points per game and 4.8 rebounds per game for Coach Thompson on the basketball court.  He then had an outstanding baseball season, hitting .407 with 22 hits for Coach Noble in the spring.

Jackson Icenogle-Mulberry Grove: Jackson put together an overall outstanding season averaging 13.6 points per game, 3.7 rebounds per game and 2.1 assists per game for the Aces during the basketball season.  In spring baseball, Jackson hit .306 with a .433 on base percentage, 13 runs scored and 10 RBI.

Gunner Finley-Ramsey: Gunner was a “fun to watch” player on the basketball court as he averaged 16 points per game, 5.3 rebound per game, 2.5 steals per game and 3.5 assists per game and was outstanding at the free throw line at 83%.  In baseball, Gunner led the Rams in several categories including batting average, on base percentage, hits, RBI and stolen bases.

Kaden Tidwell-Vandalia: Kaden was a big contributor on the Offensive Line for the Vandals and also stepping in at Center.  He was also a solid defensive player at Linebacker—going both ways for Coach Clay in the football season.  He ten put together an outstanding wrestling season, going 40-12 with 24 pins and 61 takedowns.  Kaden would take 3rd place at the 190 pound weight class.

Clayton Wojcik-CHBC: Clayton had an outstanding basketball season for the Bobcats with averages of 14.8 points per game, 4.9 rebounds per game and 2 assists per game.  Clayton was also a solid baseball player for the Bobcats in the fall and spring high school baseball seasons.

Callaway Smith-South Central: In basketball, Callaway contributed to Coach Doehring’s squad by averaging 6 points per game, 2.4 rebounds per game and 1.5 assists per game.  In baseball, Callaway helped out Coach Jones’ Cougars with a .402 batting average, .471 on base percentage and .543 slugging percentage.  He also added 37 hits, 12 RBI and 17 runs scored.
