Best Moment of Season
Moment #1 – South Central made the most of their home field advantage in the postseason and captured their third consecutive IHSA 1A Regional Championship in a row with a 6-0 win over Red Hill at Webster Family Park. Senior pitcher Taegan Webster tossed an 85-pitch no-hitter in the win while the Lady Cougars racked up 18 hits including four from Webster, three from Perci Reid. Webster and Lauren Johnson each had two RBI apiece in the win.
Moment #2 – The Altamont Lady Indians and South Central Lady Cougars put on a show in the National Trail Conference Tournament Third Place Game. Altamont pitcher Grace Lemke and South Central pitchers Taegan Webster were both strong on the mound racking up 17 and 14 strikeouts, respectively, with Lemke able to no-hit the Cougars to lead Altamont to the 1-0 win while Webster gave up just 2 hits. Avery Fleeharty had the game-winning RBI for Altamont with a single to left field that scored Laila Hankins.
