"Best Of" Spring Sports-All Area Baseball Team


All Area Team (In no particular order)

Adam Atwood – The BSE senior hit .300 with a .456 on base percentage with 21 hits, 13 RBI and 23 runs scored. On the mound, Atwood pitched 50.2 innings with a 2.07 ERA with a 4-4 record and one save.

Gunner Finley – The Ramsey senior led the Rams in batting average (.289), on base percentage (.413), slugging percentage (.395), hits (11), RBI (6) and stolen bases (9).

Gage Lorton – CHBC senior hit a team best .407 while tallying 22 hits, 12 runs and 8 RBI. Lorton had a .536 on base percentage and a .593 slugging percentage and racked up 9 stolen bases.

Jackson Icenogle – Mulberry Grove sophomore put together a solid season for the Aces, hitting .306 with a .433 On Base Percentage with 13 runs scored and 10 RBI.

Wyatt Rueff – CHBC junior had a slash line of .329/.400/.429 while grabbing 23 hits and 15 RBI. Rueff brought energy and leadership to the field each game for the Bobcats as he handled the pitching staff from behind the plate as the go to catcher for CHBC.

Colton Smith – South Central Junior was strong for the Cougars in the spring with a .373/.463/.520 slash line with 9 doubles, 2 HRs, 22 RBI, 20 runs scored and 9 stolen bases during the season.

Kale Konrad – Vandalia senior Kale Konrad put together one of the top season in the area as he started the year hot and never cooled off.  Kale hit an I70sports-best .479 during his senior season with a .515 On Base Percentage and a .635 Slugging Percentage.  He also accounted for 7 doubles, 4 triples, 33 runs scored and 18 stolen bases and was named First Team All-South Central Conference.

Kade Milleville – The Altamont sophomore was strong on the mound and at the plate.  Kade was 5-2 in 62 2/3 innings with 70 strikeouts and a 1.89 ERA and started the State Championship game.  Kade also hit .316 for the Indians during his sophomore season.

Andrew Kelly – Vandalia senior capped off an outstanding high school athletic career with a very solid baseball season.  Andrew had a .398/.468/.657 slash line with 18 doubles, 2 triples, 2 HRs and 29 RBI.  Andrew also scored 29 runs and stole 15 bases along with playing a flawless Center Field.  He was named Second Team All South Central Conference.

Coen West – South Central senior Coen West was one of the area’s top pitchers.  Coen was 9-3 with a 1.65 ERA in 63 2/3 IP for South Central as their top pitcher.  He also hit .349 at the plate with 2 HRs and 17 RBI for the Cougars.

Aydan Jones – Vandalia senior Aydan Jones was a major contributor in the middle of the lineup for the Vandals.  Aydan hit .366 with a .496 OBPT and .559 SLG with 7 doubles, 1 triple, 3 HRs and 21 RBI on the season for the Vandals.  Aydan was named 3rd team All South Central Conference.

Keegan Schultz – Altamont junior was the cleanup hitter for the 2nd place Indians.  Keegan hit .337 on the season with a team-high 6 Home Runs.  He also added 8 doubles, 1 triple, 31 RBI and 32 runs scored.

Carter Scoggins – Mulberry Grove senior had a strong year at the plate and on the mound.  Carter hit .378 with a .481 On Base Percentage and .557 Slugging Percentage.  He also was 2-2 on the mound with a 2.04 ERA.
