All Area Team (In no particular order)
Madison Lupton – The junior stepped into a big leadership role for Vandalia this Spring as one of just two upperclassmen on the young Lady Vandals team. Despite battling a back injury most of the season, Lupton hit .429 with a .481 slugging percentage and .653 on base percentage. Lupton was sure handed in the field with a .917 fielding average, committing just a pair of errors.
Jenni Mezo – Putting together another solid season for Mulberry Grove, the shortstop and lead-off hitter led the Lady Aces with a .543 batting average, .594 on base percentage and a .702 slugging percentage. Mezo collected 51 hits and stole 31 bases and would end the season with a .961 fielding percentage.
Kyra Swift – South Central junior Kyra Swift was strong at the plate for the Cougars with a .375 Batting Average, .496 On Base Percentage and a .548 Slugging Percentage. Kyra also added 9 doubles, 3 triples, 1 HR and 26 RBI.
Mady McCall – The Lady Vandals freshman pitcher was called upon to handle the lions share of innings in the circle and showed her range as shortstop when not on the mound. McCall had a very solid season at the plate, leading Vandalia with a .458 batting average, hits with 22 and RBI with 6 all leading to a .519 on base percentage and .625 slugging percentage.
Micah Greenwood – The Mulberry Grove catcher was as steady as they come behind the plate this Spring with just 4 errors in 208 chances for a .981 fielding percentage and was a lock down catcher that very few attempted to run on as Greenwood threw out 3 of the 7 runners attempting to steal on her allowing just 4 stolen bases in 26 games. The senior also hit .437 with a slash line of .437/.485/.632.
Kaitlyn Swift – South Central junior Kaitlyn Swift had a .422 average for the Cougars and added 43 hits, 25 RBI and 18 stolen bases in helping the Cougars to a Regional Championship.
Mia Waggoner – The Ramsey freshman catcher made a big entrance into high school softball, leading the Lady Rams in batting average (.377), on base percentage (.479), hits (23), runs (19), stolen bases (14), slugging percentage (.524) and fielding percentage (.968).
Taylor Stone – The junior slugger buoyed the Mulberry Grove batting order with a team second-best .464 batting average, .535 on base percentage and a team leading .750 slugging percentage. 11 of Stone’s 39 hits on the season would be extra base hits with 4 doubles, a triple and 6 home runs for a team leading 38 RBI.
Olivia Carroll – Ramsey senior pitcher Carroll was a strong two-way player for the Lady Rams handling 78% of the Rams innings in the circle and finding herself in the top 3 of several offensive categories. Carroll hit .308 with 20 hits and 11 RBI.
Jayna Ireland – The St. Elmo-Brownstown senior led the Lady Eagles with a .339 batting average and .468 slugging percentage while racking up a .369 on base percentage. Ireland had a team leading 21 hits and 11 RBI. Ireland’s best game of the season would come in her second to last game of her high school career as she went 3-for-5 with 2 runs and 2 RBI in SEB’s regional semifinal 17-7 win over Webber.
Claire Boehm – The Altamont senior leadoff hitter and outfielder finished in the top few spots in several offensive categories for the Lady Indians, leading the team in batting average with .315 while also racking up a .351 on base percentage with a team leading 23 hits and driving in 13 runs and tallying a team high 15 stolen bases.
Ryleigh Sarver – The Bobcat sophomore had a breakout year for CHBC leading the team in batting average (.380), hits (19), RBI (9) and slugging percentage (.520).
Dayana Haslett – The St. Elmo-Brownstown freshman pitcher had to step up to the learning curve rather quickly as she was counted on to handle the biggest portion of innings in the circle for the Lady Eagles. Haslett reached base 24 times for SEB and made the most of her time on the base paths with 19 steals to lead the Eagles.
Birgen Schlanser – The CHBC junior had a strong offensive year for the Lady Bobcats with a team second best .372 batting average and had 16 hits with a team highs in on base percentage (.491), runs (12) and stolen bases (10).
