Forging Our Future Shows Off Construction Progress of New Vandalia Athletic Building

Members of the Forging Our Future committee and Vandalia School Board got a look at the beginning progress made on the new athletic building that will house a new weight room, wrestling room and more for district athletes. Committee member Bob Culbertson led a tour of the progress on the building so far that has included gutting the building and beginning to layout where the various components of the building will be including the athletic offices, cardio room, golf simulator, locker room, weight room and wrestling room. Culbertson and Athletic Director Jason Clay then answered questions and Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Garrison spoke about some steps they’ve taken and will take in the future to get Vandalia student athletes involved. After the tour, Clay said they are certainly excited to see the progress being made.

With the new weight room/wrestling room building just being a part of Phase One of Forging Our Future’s three phase plans, they are still seeking donations for the current phase as well as future phases. To help out or for more information, contact Athletic Director Jason Clay or Athletic Secretary Jamie Keck at Vandalia High School or any member of the Forging Our Future committee.
