“Best of” Winter Sports-Wrestling Newcomer of the Year-
Max Philpot-It seems more and more over the years that Freshman are being asked to step in to bigger and bigger roles. And, you won’t find one who put together a better season than Max did. In his Freshman year, Max was 52-3 for the Vandals with 31 pins and 85 takedowns on the year, helping the Vandals to their 4th place state finish. Max took 1st at the Litchfield Tournament, 1st at the C-M Tournament, 3rd at the Princeton Tournament and capped it off with a 2nd place finish at the state tournament in the 106 pound weight class. Max will be part of a very talented Vandals wrestling team heading back for the ’24-’25 season.
