“Best Of” Winter Sports-Coach of the Year
Craig Carr, Altamont-There were a lot of coaches that put in outstanding years in the winter sports season of 2023-24. But, none were quite to the level of Altamont girls basketball coach Craig Carr. Coach Carr definitely stepped into a situation of a team with a lot of talent. But, he also stepped back to coaching after being away from the sidelines for a while and with the heavy expectations of a talented team. The Lady Indians made the most of their talented group and rolled to a 3rd place finish at the Class 1A State Tournament, bringing home hardware from the state girls basketball tournament for the first time in program history.
