Our 2023-24 “Best Of” Boys Basketball All Area Team (In No particular order)
Tanner Robbins, Vandalia-The Vandals Senior put together an outstanding campaign averaging nearly 14 points per game and 5.2 rebounds per game to lead the team in both categories. Tanner was name 1st Team All South Central Conference for his efforts.
Clayton Wojcik, CHBC-Clayton put together a very solid Senior season as he averaged 14.8 points per game, 4.9 rebounds per game and 2 assists per game. Clayton was named 2nd team All-NTC and 1st team All-EIC for the Bobcats.
Gunner Finley, Ramsey-Gunner was exactly that–he was a gunslinger for the Rams (including 41 points in our January 5th Game of the Week). Gunner averaged 16 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game, 2.5 steals per game and 3.5 assists per game and was an 83% free throw shooter. Gunner was named 2nd team All-EIC.
Jackson Icenogle, Mulberry Grove-Jackson put together a very solid year for the Aces, averaging 13.6 points per game, 3.7 rebounds per game and 2.1 assists per game. He was named 2nd team all EIC. The Sophomore will be back for the Aces this winter.
Landon Sugg, Mulberry Grove-The Aces’ Sugg averaged 9.8 points per game and 4.8 rebound per game on the year. He’ll be back for his Senior year with Coach Barber and the Aces.
Eli Miller, Altamont-Eli averaged 9.4 points per game, 3.6 rebounds per game, 2.2 assists per game for the Indians in helping to lead the team to their 3rd straight 20 win season.
Wade Brannon, Vandalia-Wade took a big step in his Junior season averaging 11.5 points per game and 5.1 rebounds per game for the Vandals. Wade was named 2nd team All-South Central Conference and will return as a huge part of the Vandals for his Senior year.
Callaway Smith, South Central-Calloway averaged 6 points per game, 2.4 rebound per game and 1.5 assists per game for Coach Doehring’s Cougars in the 2023-24 season.
Max Magnus, South Central-Max averaged 10.1 points per game, 2.3 rebounds per game and 1.7 assists per game and looked to be the leader of the South Central squad during his Senior year.
Cade Schaub, SEB-The Eagles Senior averaged 11.8 points per game, 4 rebounds per game and 1.8 assists per game. Cade was named 2nd team All-EIC and Honorable Mention All-NTC.
Isaac Sachan, Vandalia-Isaac stepped into the role of point guard for the Vandals during his Junior year and averaged 5.5 points per game, 2.2 rebounds per game and 3 assists per game. Isaac was named to the Vandalia Holiday Tournament’s All Tournament Team and will return to run the point for Coach Vanzo in his Senior year.
Gage Lorton, CHBC-Gage averaged 9.8 points per game and 4.8 rebounds per game during the 2023-24 season.
