Brownstown-St. Elmo Lady Bombers basketball got their summer off to a strong start on Monday, going 2-1 on the first day of the Southern Illinois Basketball Tournament being held this week at Effingham High School and Effingham Jr. High. BSE started the day off with a 55-29 win over Dieterich in their 8:30am matchup before falling in a close battle to Edwards County, 35-32. The Bombers wrapped up the day with a 33-23 win over CHBC in their second matchup of the day against a National Trail Conference opponent. BSE will be in action again today at Effingham today with games at 8:30am, 11:50am and 4:00pm and will also play three games on Thursday at 8:30am, 11:00am and 1:30pm.
The tournament features teams from across the area, Central Illinois and the Metro East competing in Varsity, JV and JR. High divisions this week.
