The Vandal would rally multiple times on Tuesday night, on their way to a 60 to 57 OT win over Southwestern at home in South Central Conference action.
The Vandals trailed 16 to 9 after the 1st quarter and trailed by as many as 9 points in the 2nd quarter. But, they rallied to briefly tie the game at 23 before trailing 25 to 23 at halftime. The Vandals would then see themselves fall behind by as many as 8 points in the 3rd quarter and trailed 42 to 37 heading into the 4th quarter. The Vandals were able to take their first lead at 46-45 with 4:00 minutes remaining and then led 52 to 50 in the final seconds before Southwestern’s Ian Brantley would score 2 of his 32 points to tie it at the buzzer. In overtime, the Vandals got 2 big buckets from Wade Brannon and one from Tanner Robbins to help them pick up the victory. The Vandals are now 11-15 overall on the season and 3-3 in South Central action. They will be back in action on Friday at Greenville.
