After going 2-0 at home last week, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City went back on the road on Tuesday, but fell at Shelbyville 75-57. After falling behind 12-6 in the first quarter, the Bobcats went on a 7-1 run to end the quarter and tie the game up at 13-13. Shelbyville went on a run of their own, pulling ahead 19-13 before CHBC pulled within four points, 21-17. The Rams would outscore CHBC 16-5 through the remainder of the second quarter and the Bobcats trailed 37-22 at halftime. Shelbyville extended their lead to 19 points and CHBC would pull back to within 12 but that was the closest they would come in the quarter and found themselves down 56-42 at the end of the third quarter. The Bobcats traded baskets back and forth with the Rams throughout the fourth quarter, but could not put together a big comeback run as they would fall 75-57. CHBC is now 8-11 on the season and will get back into conference action, taking on South Central at home on Friday night in National Trail Conference action.
