The South Central Cougars are off to an 0-1 start at the Dieterich Boys Holiday Tournament, falling to Red Hill 50-39 in their tournament opener on Tuesday afternoon. After being outscored 13-6 in the first quarter and 9-7 in the second quarter, the Cougars trailed 22-13 at halftime. The second half would feature close, back and forth action as Red Hill had just a small 14-12 advantage in the third quarter to maintain a 36-25 lead. The two teams would be even in the fourth quarter, each dropping in 14 points as the Salukis would hold on for the 50-39 win over the Cougars. South Central is now 7-5 on the season and after dropping their last two games, will look to get things righted on Wednesday as they will play their double day, facing Grayville at 2:30pm today and the squaring off against Sullivan at 5:30pm.
