ACHS Honors Grace Nelson with 2,000th Career Point Game Ball

Altamont High School honored its first 2,000 career point scorer in school history on Tuesday night prior to the Altamont boys basketball home game on Tuesday night. Prior to the Indians matchup against Casey-Westfield, ACHS Athletic Director Katie Lurkins and ACHS girls basketball coach Craig Carr presented senior girls basketball player Grace Nelson with the game ball from the Lady Indians win at St. Anthony on December 4 during which Nelson surpassed 2,000 career points with a layup in the third quarter. Nelson is the first player in boys or girls basketball for the school to surpass the 2,000 point milestone as she continues to add on to her school leading career point total, now sitting at a little over 2,130 points. Nelson is currently averaging just over 33 points per game having scored 43 or more points in three of the Lady Indians last four games and if she remains on her current scoring average, is on track to reach the 2,500 point milestone as well this season.
