Vandalia senior golfer Conner McCall has made his future golf and college plans official, signing his letter of intent to play golf at Northern Illinois University. Looking at his decision to build on his high school success and take his talents to NIU, McCall says he was impressed with NIU’s facilities and got a good feel about the Huskie’s program when making his official visits.
As he gets ready to make the transition from high school golf to the collegiate level, McCall says there is always room for improvement, but it comes down to the simple task of figuring out how to decrease strokes on the course.
McCall is a three-time state qualifier, a two-time individual top 5 finisher (4th in 2021 and 5th in 2022) and was a member of the Vandals 2021 IHSA 1A State Finals Championship team. He has also competed around the country and as a part of several different junior golf circuits.
