Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City overcame a slow start and cooled off South Central’s hot offensive start as the Bobcats took over for a 71-37 win over the Cougars on Monday night in the season opener and the National Trail Conference opener for both teams. South Central got three big 3’s from Tagen Webster, Kaitlyn Swift and Percilla Reid for a quick 9-2 lead and would find themselves ahead 16-11 at the end of the first quarter. An 8-0 run by the Bobcats to start the second quarter would give them their first lead at 19-16 that they would push out to 39-26 at halftime. CHBC would carry their momentum into the second half, outscoring South Central 32-11 to cruise on to the 71-37 win. CHBC is now 1-0 on the season and 1-0 in the NTC, They will get back into action on Thursday when they play their second road game of the week at Central A&M. South Central is now 0-1 on the season and 0-1 in the NTC. They will play their first road game of the season tonight when they travel to Casey-Westfield.
