Vandalia got their offense going early and would have a big inning late, riding that offense to a 17-6 win over Pana on the road Monday. After Pana got on the scoreboard with a run in the first inning, the Vandals got going with six runs in the second inning and added another 2 in the third for a 6-1 lead. Pana added a run in the third and the Vandals would push their lead to 9-2 in the third. Pana cut the Vandals lead to 9-4 in the fifth inning, but a 6-run sixth inning busted the game open as Vandalia pushed to a 15-4 lead. Two runs by Pana in the bottom of the sixth and two runs by the Vandals in the top of the seventh would wrap up the scoring as Vandalia would get the 17-6 win.
