Greenville Volleyball Falls to Staunton in Two

Greenville volleyball fell at home to Staunton Monday night 13-25, 21-25.

Greenville varsity is now 1-4 on the season. The Lady Comets will play at Wesclin on Wednesday.

Comments from Greenville Coach Tracy McEvers on the game: “We had a slow start on serve receive for game one and had a hard time coming out of that.  Staunton also used our blocks a lot, forcing several blocking errors – taking the momentum in the game.  The girls played a much better second game, allowing one or two serves against us, then getting the ball back.”

In the JV match, Greenville fell to Staunton 14-25, 24-26 and in the freshman match, Greenville lost 13-21, 12-21.

For Greenville Varsity:

Natalie Iberg – 6 kills, 4 digs, 1 block

Gwyn Mitchell – 3 kills, 2 blocks

Brooklyn Suzuki – 9 digs

Justyce Stephenson – 6 assists, 4 digs, 1 kill, 1 ace

Alison Ridens – 3 assists

Lilly Funneman – 1 kill

Ava Curry – 1 ace
